Sure, I was expecting the spike this week with the Russian Proverb, so I didn't even look at last week. Silly me. I was so busy with work I didn't even look. The second major spike in site statistics came right after I put the Wee Faerie -- always free -- cross stitch chart up.
Sad thing was I thought it had been on the site already but didn't realize it until I was telling a Mindsay friend where to find it on my site. Good thing I finally got it there.
It had been created for first entry cross stitchers, as part of the site's mandate for lots of free things. I hate sites that don't offer free things anymore. I liked the Web attitude of the 90's, and I figured there would be enough "pay for" items in time, so why not have a lot of fun free stuff too?
In any case, the Wee Faerie is always free at http://www.carouselcharts.com . You don't have to be a new cross stitcher to enjoy it.
The Christmas Creche "Baby Jesus" chart was also downloaded -- lots, so I suspect most of the site stat spike were new site guests, since that first chart has been free on the site since 2004. I guess this is a good time to tell you to look for the next in the series, "Mary" about the first of October.
Oh, don't forget to download the Russian Proverb this weekend. It is only available until the 31st of July. I'll be watching the stats.
For fun, I loaded the stat view of traffic for the entire year to date. The graph clearly shows an upward trend in traffic, and not just the fun "freebee" spike days. Wahoo!
